Wow. I was looking forward to the trial of that psycho.

Steve Carlton 06-30-2025 05:46 PM

If I was him, I think I'd rather get the needle.

A930Rocket 06-30-2025 05:47 PM

There was so much evidence against this nut….

Hopefully, his new roommate takes him out soon.

Unfortunately, it won’t ease the pain or bring the kids back

JackDidley 06-30-2025 05:54 PM

I have always thought he was sure he could get away with murder and decided to prove it to himself.

herr_oberst 06-30-2025 05:55 PM

Interesting timing.

Yesterday, a psychopath in Coeur d'Alene Idaho decided to start a fire in the woods and then proceeded to shoot a few of the firefighters who came to douse the flames. (Arrrghhhhh!). 2 firefighters dead, one clinging to life.

I was talking to a friend of mine who lives in Boise about the fire, and the discussion turned to this horrible massacre. The trial wasn't discussed, so I didn't realize it was happening now.

Glad to see that this guy has been taken care of. I wonder if some of the inmates at his new home will Jeffery Dahmer him.

The Synergizer 06-30-2025 06:37 PM

It was a plea bargain. And caught the victim's families by surprise. Some are not happy. They wanted him to fry, or a firing squad. And I don't blame them.

Idaho is the only state that authorizes firing squad as its primary method of execution

I doubt the other inmates will look at him as any kind of hero. I predict he hangs himself.

JackDidley 06-30-2025 06:42 PM

The good thing about the plea deal is, it stops what could have been a long expensive trial and the results are known. No chance of any other verdict or outcome.

^^^^ he's a golden cow, prison guards don't like their meal ticket getting taken away.
Hated, despised, but fully protected, this is why he pled.

Rick Lee 06-30-2025 07:12 PM

I kind of like the idea of his dying in prison and not on a date certain by death penalty. And I kind of hope no one kills him in prison, so he can think long and hard about how he wasted his whole life and will never see the light of day again. He's young enough that 50 yrs in the joint will be the torture he richly deserves.

Baz 06-30-2025 08:23 PM

He accepted a plea deal to escape the death penalty. The case never went to trial.

LWJ 06-30-2025 08:39 PM

I live in the Portland area. A goodly distance away. And I knew a bunch of people who were completely freaked out when this happened. It was a pretty big deal. Weird stuff. Glad he is put away. Better if he was dead.

juanbenae 06-30-2025 08:45 PM

He will get his if he is placed in the general population, ever... He may be in protective custody for a while until the shine comes off the story.... That is a costly incarceration standard to maintain... We will hear in like 5 years he was returned to GP and killed in like 3 months by some lifer who wants his name in the news one more time.

I'm not sure how his state operates but In California, if you get the death penalty, you stay in solitary confinement while you wait to get executed (which could be 40 years or never). I think choosing to plead guilty and getting life in prison is a better option since you have a little more freedom while in prison.

URY914 07-01-2025 11:48 AM

I heard the families of the victims were outraged with the plea deal.

KFC911 07-01-2025 12:20 PM

He should not live imo. How ... doesn't really matter to me... give a dad a few munutes alone with the POS.

3rd_gear_Ted 07-02-2025 07:20 AM

From his professor in PA

“I have to look at the framework of what I taught and wonder, did I inspire him in some way?” said Ramsland. “But I can’t second-guess that because I may have inspired somebody else to become an FBI agent.”

jhynesrockmtn 07-02-2025 07:53 AM

I live in the area and had dinner last night at an old timey family owned lake front resort that one of the victims, Ethan Chapin, worked summers at. There is a large bench with a plaque honoring him at the volleyball court near the water. My camping buddy knew him a bit from buying gas at the boat dock. Such a tragic thing. Hopefully the families can get some peace as the media buzz winds down eventually.

He attended DeSales - a small Catholic University just a few miles from my home. He also grew up in eastern PA. I know a couple professors from that school and several graduates - but none in Criminal Justice.

Ever since they caught him I have wondered if he might be responsible for unsolved killings in PA or NJ. He certainly seemed to think he was smarter than the police...
