Welcome Roscoe!

One door closes and another door opens.

He looks a bit like "Frank the Pug" from the first MIB movie.

All the best! SmileWavy

I've never had a pug, but I do think that they are adorable.

I think it's hilarious that you posted "what a bundle of energy" but the first photo posted looks like he passed out mid step.

Go Roscoe! Welcome to the Pelican clan!

Tell us more about him. How'd you get him? Hold old is he?

So cute. I’m 100% adopting my dogs now so it will be rare to end up with a pug. My first dog was a black pug named Jiggy

As a dog and cat lover, PUGS have one of the most expressive faces out there. Roscoe looks happy and healthy. Wishing you all the best with your new addition to the family.

He is a 6 month old rescue from the Humane Society. My sister's girlfriend texted me that there was a Pug rescue she thinks would be perfect for me. My sister had a Tibetan that was at her daycare on a daily basis, so she knew we really cared for our pets.

I wasn't looking for another dog as my Beagle Corgi is happy being The One and only. She is very healthy, but at 13, is a little grumpy around the little whippersnapper. Hopefully, she will warm up to her little brother.

Back to how I got him. I texted my sister's gf back and said I was interested. She has a couple employees that are also my tenants. One has a Maltese rescue. She said a lady would give me a call about him. The lady turned out to be our former Governor's SIL, who is a famous pianist and acted with Elvis! She calls me a fills me in and we went from there. That was Tuesday afternoon and evening, and I picked him up yesterday.

Long story short. I am guessing the Humane Society has a network of dog lovers/specialists they call when a special dog comes in. That is how I got Roscoe. They probably want them to go to a good home, instead of someone adopting and then flipping them for profit! I've seen some pets online at the Humane Society that later ended up for sale on CL for a "rehoming fee".

Alright. How much do you want for him?

vash 07-11-2025 07:46 AM

@WPOZZZ you scored a shelter pug?!!!

wow. lucky for the both of you. stoked for all involved.

my dog, that I love is an oddball. total shelter animal. first time I laid eyes on him..it asked my wife, "really? him?"

hahhaha..now we are inseparable

Omg, Roscoe is a giant pooping machine. I have no idea how such a tiny thing makes such large poops (1" diameter).

Steve Carlton 07-11-2025 01:10 PM

What about the length?

Baz 07-11-2025 06:14 PM

Congrats on your new rescue and THANK YOU for giving Roscoe a home!!!

Good friends of mine did Pug rescue and at one point had 5 of them!

No idea as he winds them up like soft serve ice cream. All I can say is he poops way more than his Beagle Corgi sister. If I were to guess, maybe a good 6x by volume. If it were lb for lb, OMG!

Steve Carlton 07-12-2025 03:07 PM

So he's a skilled defecator! An artiste 'd feces.

Roscoe is a dog of many talents. He likes to sleep on his back and snore up a storm, part time munitions maker of deadly nerve gas, and now he is trying out being a cobbler!
