This is almost funny:
A new world’s record perhaps, 5 minutes tops after washing the car and hadn’t even dried it off yet. Looks like it came from a bird the size of a small raccoon. I swear they do this on purpose.

Best response. Birds have networks!
At least the car was still wet, and you probably still had all the supplies out. Coullda' been worse!

That's amazing! In this uncertain time, someone made a deposit on a used car.

Get off my lawn!
|
![]() Five years ago, I had just washed, waxed and done a full detail on my 911. I put the car cover on it, and was about to close the garage door. A dang (expletives deleted) bird flew in the garage, and had diarrhea or do what birds do. I opened the other garage, door, and grabbed a broom and finally chased the dang thing out. It left me these presents on my car cover. It did not do anything the the El Camino or my wife's Macan. I had to strip off the car cover, and throw it in the washing machine. It tried to get my clean car, but I put the car cover on just minutes before.

Not almost. It is funny. Got a chuckle from me as I experienced almost the same last week.

Get off my lawn!
|
Several years ago back when I had to commute to and from work (shudder) I was just driving down the highway at 50 MPH or so, and a large flock of grackles flew over. Suddenly it sounded like a hail storm. My car was covered in hits of bird crap. I had to stop at a coin operated spray wand car wash and knock the droppings off.
I rented a car in Portland, OR one year. I parked in a "good" spot out of habit, even though it was a rental. A couple of seagulls decided the utility line right above that rental was a great place to hang out. Nothing better than seagull crap. It was a rental, but I had a several days left on the rental, so I did stop and spent a couple of quarter blasting off the worst off the it. The next day I found a better spot, and saw two seagulls attacking a different car. Likely laughing and keeping score on the best hits.

Seagulls are mean.
As a little boy I was eating my lunch at school and a seagull tried to take it off me. It couldn't get my sandwiches so it crapped on my lunch. LOL I must have been pretty upset if I can remember it 60 years later. |

Back when I had my TR6, there was one time when I had just finished washing it and was going to go for a drive. I put the top down and was sitting there letting the car warm up and I felt something hit my shoulder. Yep, it was bird poop!!!

In high school one of my classmates was leaning out of upstairs windows at noon time to yell at some friends. When he yelled, it must have startled a gull perched on the edge of the roof. The gull took off and "lightened its load" making a direct hit on Danny.
What a way to be remembered 57 years later.

I was out driving my Boxster with my daughter a few years back. We purposely drove to the Crow Roost - where hundreds if not thousands of Crows go for the night.
Yep. They did target practice on us. |

Yup, either bird crap or rain is inevitable after a car wash. If I want to break a drought I’ll wash my Ram, which is equivalent of hand washing a small battleship.

They used to park new Tesla's to be shipped at the pier where my wife worked at the port . They would park the cars near a large warehouse and they got bombed regularly. Tesla was not happy and made a big deal. But the warehouse was used for all kinds of things that could not get wet along with some things that it really didn't matter. The funny thing is that incoming Mercedes were parked way out by a fence. The super models got a special spot but still outside. Whatever it was, all similar shipments are parked in their one area.
Proximity to the warehouse was a big difference as the seagulls liked it up there and were always coming and going during the day. A few pelicans too, but they stayed low on pilings and that kind of thing. Seagull crap can and will eat through clear coat. Tesla finally left about the time they moved to Fremont to the old GM/Toyota factory in 2012. They didn't approve of the cars being washed or covered anymore than they were. Only a union longshore acting as a car washer could do it anyway, so you know that ain't happening at their rate + equipment. There are cameras everywhere so you can't tie your shoe w/o someone seeing it. I think occasionally a supervisor would walk by with a wet towel and casually wipe the worst of it. I saw a lot of exotics coming and going to AU and Japan. In all kinds of condition. These are all handled separately but outside. If a window was down, it was down, rain or shine. Not many down there care. If they were in containers, that was another pier. |
