Deck coating

7 years in and I'm finally finishing up my retirement cabin.
5 years early too!
Deck was just finished Sunday.

The deck structure is all PT lumber, but the floor is 3/4 osb.
Roof is all non PT lumber.
Going to paint All non PT wood for preservation, then paint the PT stuff after it dries.

Googling and several options are available.
Anybody ever use TUFFCOAT?
Other recommendations?
Thinking of painting the OSB too.

Pic below.
Besides blocking, any constructive comments?

I just finished doing mine a couple weeks back. I used Behr Deck Over.
Here's a link to pics.

FYI: back around 2015 a class action lawsuit was filed against Behr/Home Depot alleging poor performance of the product . If I remember correctly it was settled in 2018 . Homeowners/contractors that could prove product failure received a financial settlement . The product may or may not be better now .

As I read it you are going over 3/4" plywood?

I like waterproof PVC membrane like this 'Toughdeck'" https://tufdek.com/vinyl-decking/pvc-roofing-membrane-by-tufdek/

We used deckover about 8 years ago. Looked great for a while. 3 years later it was peeling up mostly where exposed to weather. A royal PITA to deal with. Worse than scraping paint. Doesn’t sand well either. Wont make that mistake again. Perhaps they’ve improved the formula since then.

Thanks! My first coverage of the Deck Over lasted 15 years. In Michigan, that is a win with our winters. I'll take it any day.

The ones who had problems....I wonder if they applied the stuff correctly? The instructions clearly say that two coats are required.
