I'd go for a Chrysler Cordoba instead.
They're the only cars that had the soft Corinthian leather

Here is a healthy dose of Lincoln without the Mercury.

We had an early 1980's lincoln mark 7, think 1984. Had air bags in the suspension that would leak, causing the front end to cycle up and down while driving. Bags were not cheap, I was poor, but had a friend in the service department. When they changed them they did it in pairs, and he would give me the ones that hadn't leaked. Nasty job swapping them out, but I got good at it.

I did my first driving probably around 12 years old in a pasture in East Texas in my grand father's Lincoln and given the year it was probably a '78 Mark V. Color looks about right too.

My HS best friend had one of these when we were in HS in 1982. He was the youngest child and his parents were already retired (sisters were easily 15 years older than us). When he totaled the gigantic family LTD while engaging in some hanky panky with his GF and driving, the parents got a Mk V from his older sister. Lucky for him there were no injuries, but at that age you don't consider those kind of risks...
He tooled around in that thing like the yacht/Love Boat that it was in all white. Got about 1 mpg, so he was always asking us for gas money. Luckily it was a small town so we didn't have far to go for anything.

My mother drove Mercuries for most of my juvenile life, with a couple Fords thrown in.
Anyone remember the Breezeway rear windows? I remember laying on the top of the rear seat, absolutely nothing that would stop me from sliding off the trunk lid and end up on the road. This looks just like her 1963, at least as well as I can remember it. ![]()

It's a '68... identical to the '67 except for the addition of the side marker lights.
