I wouldn't say it was...just a nice caramel flavor. The bottle says all natural flavor added.(for what that's worth)
It's brewed in Lakewood, NY

For the price...I think it's a good beer.

stevej37 10-08-2025 06:38 AM

Meijer had this one last night, along with the Caramel one above.
The Caramel is a lot better...imo. But I'm not a pumpkin fan to start with.

What size are they....24oz?

Looks like a nice place.

Krug= 1/2 litre

Mas Krug = 1 litre

Einmal bitte = one more please

Don't forget about Pils and Helles are major German bier varieties. Closer to lager and very Bavarian. Then you get the wheat types, barf city.

^^^ There is a Mexican Grille near me that offers tap beer in a quart mug, or 1 liter size.

I ordered it once with food...I thought I was never going to finish it, my belly was like a football.:D

I had no idea you'd moved out of MA. :D

Shaun @ Tru6 10-08-2025 02:19 PM

it was 75-80 last few days. Just looked at weather, now we in seasonal 60s later this week so I will have to find some Maine Beer Company Mean Old Tom. But it was nice while it lasted.

Mmmmmm I used to make a Porter that I put fresh vanilla beans in after fermenting.

stevej37 10-08-2025 02:27 PM

Last winter I made a batch of Kahlua that called for fresh vanilla beans....the beans were more costly
than the liquor. (almost)

Yeah. I found that a real vanilla extract was cheaper and easier ultimately than putting the beans in the brew. Plus I didn't have to wait for the flavor because with a good extract it was instant. I'm very much an instant gratification kinda guy when it comes to my beer which is why I don't lager.

At Meijer this am and spotted this.
Made by Lexington Brewery in Grand Rapids....very good Bourbon taste..8.2% ABV

^^^ Instead of Biergartens.....we have Beer Tents here. :D

stevej37 11-11-2025 11:39 AM

Bought this yesterday as it was the 50th anniversary of the 29 sailors that lost their lives on Lake Superior.
It's a Porter....which is ok.

The second pic...I took two years prior to the sinking while driving on the Mackinac Bridge.

EF is an okay Porter. Right now I'm drinking a Flying Dog Gonzo Porter. Not sure what to make of it. Pretty sure they used peated or some kind of smoked malt in it.

BTW, Planning on rolling North in a few weeks. I'll PM you when I plan to head that way. Probably be a mid week trip.
