Wide feet.

I wear 10 EEEE shoes. I had to have my shoes for my wedding special made. Dress shoes are hard to find in that size. Boots have to be custom made.

The good news is those wedding shoes are still in the closet, with little wear, as I wear walking shoes 99.8% of the time.

I wear Reebok Classic walking shoes. I had heard they were popular with male nurses, as they have a lot of cushion, and wear well. I have used them for 20+ years.

Evidently Reebok keeps moving the production of them, and they go out of stock regularly. They are hard to find, and EBAY came to my rescue. I bought two pair.

10 EEEE shoes, XXL gloves and a big nose. :D

The Allen Edmonds people measure me at 10.5 D, but I'm not comfortable unless I'm wearing E width shoes. I don't wear the snow shoes that you wear though.

Are your feet square?
😝😆🤣

Topo Athletic shoes. They have a very wide toe box and lots of cushioning (some shoes more than others). They're not really casual or dress shoes but amazingly comfortable. I have four pairs.

I had a foot Dr. take a look at a pair I had and she was quite impressed with their quality and construction.

Back in the day I wore Tailor Made they sold a 12 B/D which had a nice snug heel and plenty of room in the toe box to keep your toes straight. I think shoe manufacturers do anything they can now to mess up your feet, especially women. When I see a woman with bunion hammer toes I can't look any further.

I hear ya. I’m wearing a pair of Adidas 14 EEEE for walking etc. They have a wide base for stability. As time marches on, my feet have gotten longer and wider.

When I drive the 911, I use a pair of Adidas Sl 72 Rs, as they are very narrow.

Oh yeah, I've seen those on the wall at the shoe store. :D

You know what they say about a guy that wears enormous shoes?

He has a hell of a time buying socks!

Salomon have hiking (light weight work boots) boots that are wide fitting.

herr_oberst 09-21-2025 06:05 PM

We called shoes that big and wide gunboats when we were kids.

My feet are a true blessing. I'm 60 years old. Men's US size 11. Standard width.

- And as of right now no issues.

That's from all that road / track cycling that made you perfect feet. :D

I wore Asics or New Balalce for a very long time, from my running days back in Hi School. Have worn New Balance exclusively in the past 10 years because of their outlet locally. They always have different width shoes for wide American feet. They have a light weight hiking or heavier duty walking shoe for those that needed.

I have the opposite, low instep, narrow feet. Makes buying shoe pretty easy especially European cycling shoes. I understand most European shoes run a bit narrow.

I have to make heel shims to take up room in my boots. I don't wear boots at all unless I am out for a long hike. 99% of the time, I am in my Asics. I stop wearing NB. My kid's friend made fun of me calling my NB "White Dad's shoe". Asics fit me better anyway.

I wear Hoka's to cushion my feet. But after losing a few pounds, I'm hoping to wear some nice sandals now that I've retired to a warmer climate...

Besides the wide feet, I have a very high instep. The shoe strings are just barely long enough to tie on the Reebok 10 EEEE shoes. I struggle to tie my shoes as there is just hardly any string to tie. I have to use all the holes in the shoe to put the strings through or I will just walk out of them.

The convenient part is with feet that are wide, is I can just slip my shoes off without untieing them.

javadog 09-22-2025 06:24 AM

You know, you can buy longer shoelaces.

Wide, for sure. Swollen, too? I'm no foot doc but that might concern me a little bit.

Not me. Just a pic posted for comedic relief.

I'm a 10.5 D but have recently started moving up to 11 in my older age.

If those were really my feet I'd join the "sandals with socks" crowd.
