Will Americans stop thinking now?

No more "thoughts" without an incentive to share them :D?

That's my nickles worth of an idea.... rounded up!

I still snag wheaties when I see 'em ... but it's been a while now.

I wonder what the last penny minted yesterday is worth today?

That's Inflation :)!

What will folks do without the in-cent-ive?
Relax. We dumped the penny a decade ago. Darned things didn't even make a decent substitute for a fuse.

What will the penny-mashing-industrial-complex do?

(... self admitted mashed penny seeking obsessive tourist)

I can’t believe all the angst and confusion over rounding up or down. Are Americans really that stupid? (Yes, I guess they are) It does put all the rest of the news in perspective. If Americans can get so exercised about something so objectively simple, we truly are a nation of nail biting ninnies and there is no reason to take their hand wringing over things like vaccines and corn syrup seriously.

Penny pitching games will be hard pressed for coins to toss.

Stop the insanity! Bring back the Trime!!

Philadelphia minted pennies. Might want to look for some them

I have enough to fill the gap. Take them, please.

I've seen pictures of, and thought about, covering part of a floor with pennies, maybe an entry or part of a bathroom floor. They can really put off a nice mellow glow when used as a decoration.

That sounds penny wise, and pound foolish !
I like that look also . My friend did his bar counter like that . Very pretty and shiny when we have a solid liquor buzz on

I'll have to look.....but I still may have a pressed penny from my attendance at the '64 NY World's Fair.

We also used them in our "penny loafers" back in the day......

LOL. Lets get a clue: if the cost of an item is 9.02, do you really think the merchant is going to ask for 9.00 instead of 9.05? It isn't a big hairy deal but the buyer will always get the losing end of that scenario. Wait till they do the same with nickels and dimes...
Of course, the govt wants to force a cashless society "for your own good..."

masraum 11-13-2025 09:23 PM

"now"??

I think you missed it, fella. They (we) stopped a while back.

I’ve seen this done with bar tops covered with pour-over varnish, looks pretty awesome.

My cash register automatically rounds off to the closest nickel.
I assume they all do.
Do you really think a merchant cares enough about 5 cents to round up?
