^^^That is my favorite option. I have an old F250. They too have weak transmissions. But the rednecks want more power. Meaning, there is a big market for upgrades.

Update
 
I went with option 3. The oil was pretty sparkly and there were a fair bit of metal filings.

Picked it up today. GM reman transmission/torque converter installed. Cooler flushed as well. Total cost was $8200 cad or $5900 usd.

That’s about what we paid a couple years ago at the GM dealer.
