Turbo, for sure.
|
Look into the Turbo S. Being an S, they are rare. I hardly see the S around here and we have more 911s then any other place on earth (I see at least 10 every time I drive out of the house). There are a few turbos floating around the LA basin but only seen a coupe of Ss.

Agreed Bob. The 992 turbo are the best looking of the bunch. I would kill to have a 992 GTS or a 992T to replace my Cayman S. I don't like look of the 992 none Turbo tail comes up. They are all fast enough or too fast for my lowly driving skill.

Get whatever you want to drive to cars and coffee.

I like the look of the turbo more. I also like the analog "antiquated" interior I think it has
I personally would rather have a 6mt 997.1 2wd or similar, but you said you already had a gt3 so probably looking for something more comfy with longer legs |

Edit: just looked out of curiosity, holy hell a 997TT coupe with a manual gearbox is EXPENSIVE. |
I like the smooth lines on the turbo s but… both these cars are huge and heavy and not so engaging to drive. I’ve driven both and… my hearts not in it.

I saw a 2023 Turbo S posted yesterday on BaT. Looked nice, $277K sticker price when new.

911 Turbo is assisnine. |
From the 996TT to the current model, I rear quarter air intake spoils the look for me. Since they are both extremely fast and capable cars, I'd go with first, the one that felt better driving, second, the one I would look back at every time I got out and walked away.
The 992 is so clean and svelte, that would most likely be my choice. edit: the Turbo has better investment potential if BaT is a guide. |
Turbo S. Faster. Retains value better.

What designer puts two asymmetric convex curves against each other? Some kid in 7th grade detention/study hall I suppose. The curves fight each other for attention and aren't helped by the, again, asymmetric convex/straight line pairing of the graceful door line and hard inner line of the intake. Your eye should focus on the beautiful flare and arc around the wheel. Instead you get a mess of mismatched lines creating an ugly styling cue. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1766925813.jpg |
Take your hands off the wheel at 100 miles an hour, you feel like you can take a nap.
Oh, did I mention the ridiculous acceleration? That’s why you buy a turbo S. |
That and the seats.
But that’s been all of them since the 996 IME. My wife routinely fell asleep in them - which let us get home in rather less time, in peace. |

So.... |
Well considering that all 911s are technically a turbo, you need something to visually differentiate the turbo 911 that you just spent extra for.;) But I do think they were a little better integrated into the fender flare on the 996 and 997 models.
