Suspect pulls WA State Trooper from car and drives off

Unbelievable. Suspect pulls WA State Trooper from car and drives off. If she couldn’t handle the guy, she should have stayed locked in the car.

Oof....that's gotta be embarrassing! Good thing the perp didn't harm anyone after the getaway.

Yep, her door should have been locked. She could put her window down and if he so much as came too close to the car, mace him and go from there wrt escalation. I'm of course glad that she is ok.

They caught this ass hole literally a mile from my house.

Girl is lucky that she was not hurt. The perp is lucky that she did not escalate to shooting his sorry ass.

On a related note, I've always questioned the wisdom of having women serving any kind of patrol duty, especially if they are alone in the car. A large, uncooperative male suspect can just so quickly overwhelm them physically. It happens time and time again.

The flip side of that is when that large uncooperative male begins to overwhelm the female officer and she has to resort to her "force multipliers". I.E. weapons. Studies and statistics indicate that female officers resort to their weapons far more often, and far earlier than male officers. It is intuitively obvious that this would be the case. So some guy who is simply drunk and belligerent gets shot by a cop chick where he would have been subdued by a male officer. Yeah, yeah, I know - "he shoulda cooperated...". Pretty steep price to pay, though, for gender equality.

I'm glad she is alright and that they caught the guy.

I agree!
I dont question it , i find it DEI stupid.
Woman in a position to overpower men, is just stupid.
Plus , if she had her seat belt on like the rest of us have to, she might not have been thrown from the car?

This is a conversation I have had with cop buddies, including Michael M. In the old days, there were minimum height requirements for the LAPD and the cops were mostly huge. Those requirements were deemed illegal, (which I understand), and now we have some pygmy cops, as well as some big ones. MM is a big dude and not afraid to go, "hands on," fwiw. But he's retired now.

With large male cops, dudes think twice about fighting just as they do in the barroom or anywhere else men act like dicks. It simplifies a lot of encounters. I've seen big, gnarly cops in Minneapolis in the old days just tell some dirt bag, "turn around, dude," and they did. *Click-click.*

We had an LAPD shooting a couple of years back where two cops confronted an irrational, violent guy in the locker room of a 24 Fitness. It was obvious that he was unarmed, he was basically naked. He had been trespassed previously and refused to leave. He was not being violent at the time they called but had been on previous occasions. He was a nut case.

Anyhow...he was non-compliant and started fighting when they tried to arrest him. Oh yeah, it was a male and female cop that responded. He quickly overpowered the woman cop and was on top of her, striking her when the male cop shot him dead. The woman cop was 5'4" and her partner was shorter(!) The perp was something like 6'1" and 280 lbs. In hindsight, there were tactical errors made, (they should have called for an additional unit for backup before trying to take him into custody), but it was deemed a good shooting.

If it was two big male cops who knew how to fight, they probably would not have had to shoot him.

Here's the video, if anyone cares:

The woman officer in the locker room incident could have done that to help even the initial wrestling match. That dude was big. I don't think he had been in the 280 pound range since grade school.

You generally do not want to use pepper spray in close quarters and/or on someone you are going to be wrestling with. That's why they go right to the taser.
