New Years Eve Beer or Drinks

Founders CBS
An Imperial Stout brewed with chocolate and coffee aged in bourbon barrels with maple syrup.
11.7% abv. Very tasty.

Any other beer or drinks as favorites for tonight?

Damn, that sounds tasty. That's one that I haven't seen or had before.

stevej37 12-31-2025 09:36 AM

^^^ I live within an hour of Founders and it's hard to find it in any store.
I bought this at their place/store and it was $24 for a four pack. It's worth it for an occasion.

Not sure yet, I’ve got several beers on hand to choose from. Cigar city Jai Alai on tap so probably will go with that, and maybe an espresso martini so I can stay up till midnight.

We will probably have game night with *too much* snacks and munchies. Alcohol is a lower priority for me but maybe I will sip slow with a little Basil Hayden Kentucky mash. Simple, direct, friendly, maple syrup finish.
Cheers!

I thought they stopped making the CBS. I love that stuff. You drink it and you have the taste of maple syrup on your lips when you're done.
I've got Narwhal from Sierra Nevada, Neapolitan from Saugatuck, Dragon's Milk from New Holland, Black Angel from Destihl brewery, and Filthy Imperial Stout from North High

H2o....

stevej37 12-31-2025 11:21 AM

^^^ It sounds like you are all set.....I think that North High makes that Caramel beer I had a few months back.

I googled it to find out more...

"For Founders Brewing, CBS stands for Canadian Breakfast Stout, a highly-rated, maple-syrup-barrel-aged beer similar to their KBS (Kentucky Breakfast Stout) but with a distinct Canadian twist, featuring rich coffee, chocolate, and bourbon notes. It's one of their most iconic, sought-after releases, known for its complex flavors from aging in bourbon barrels previously used for maple syrup."

My brother and I once bought out a store of all the CBS they had on the shelves. They used to bottle it in 750ml bottles. I don't remember how many bottles were on the shelf, but they all went away.

stevej37 12-31-2025 11:28 AM

^^^
Hah!
Their beer locator lists a few different stores that have CBS near me. Every time I check for it at one...they have none. I've asked and I always get the same answer..."The distributor makes all the decisions as to what we get"
Makes me wonder where it ends up at.

I will have an Erdinger Dunkle, my favorite. Maybe two, but that is it. In bed by 10:30.
