What's your feasible bucket list car?

I'd like to think I'll get a car when I can afford it just for fun. I'm trying to be realistic unless I strike gold somehow, but even then I don't think I'd spend 7 figures. This is my list of toys that have been orbiting my brain for years lately...

1966 Chevelle SS 396

Citroen DS

BMW 2002

My bucket list is simple;
Sell everything and be free.

I have cars, properties, antiques, animals, wife etc etc. My dream is to get rid of it all (except wife) and relax. No more worries about keeping everything up and cared for!

I would love to buy a Ford Raptor R. They are up to $130k now so…..

I’ve owned one of my bucket list cars since I was in my 30s so I can’t complain.

Always wanted a 308 or 246 Dino but ain’t gonna happen….i know a guy who bought two Dino’s brand new. He sold both, absolutely mint, only 5 years ago. He is about 75 now so I understand that worrying about them after 50 years of ownership is probably no longer worth it and no kids to leave them to.

Wish I could be more optimistic.

I am considering selling my 911 soon and putting the cash down on a bucket list car but to be honest, in this climate where I live and at my age, having an old classic car is no longer interesting to me. Last summer was too hot and busy so I ended up only putting 400 miles on my 911. Pathetic.

A lesson we learn only after reaching a certain age...that is, the more stuff you have, the more stuff you have to take care of, so choose your stuff carefully.

Now that I suddenly became among the handicapped? Not really a bucket list, but as the poet said "God's winged chariot looms near..."

Don’t like the new 911. My love for the model ends in 1989. Loved the Cayman but I’m not interested in used and honestly, don’t think I could live with owning a car that doesn’t have a visible engine. That would drive me crazy.

Same here. I have 7 fish tanks down from 9, that I’ve been taking care of for 10 years. Every time the lights flicker, all the filters stop and I have to reset them quickly manually… so I can’t go anywhere even for a weekend all these years. Sick and tired of it.

Yesterday spent a rare day off at the vet for my dog and $600 later….. lost 3 other dogs in the past few years and never got over their loss and still paying off the vet bills. Emotionally and financially draining. I love animals way too much and get so attached. I don’t want to do it anymore but I have a wife that wants 10 more dogs

A 240Z. Lot of variables but I think selling the Scirroco to get a 240 would be a good move. Going to be a busy year so who knows.

I get it. I'm headed that direction - slowly. I sold my '47 Dodge truck in 2023 and gave my '56 Porsche coupe to my son last year. Gave my collection of agriculture and auto company biographies and 25 or 30 Danbury mint models to the Gilmore Museum. Sold the same number of model tractors. I'm good for now, but I'm getting tired of maintaining cars.

I don't need another car, but if a Karman Ghia came my way cheap I might be tempted.

The 993 was "feasible" to me at some point. But now, I don't know if I want to spend above $70K.

The new GT3 Touring is "almost feasible" except dealers are asking ridiculous markup. I MIGHT be willing to pay MSRP.

My buddy has VANWORKS Greyrock that he drives to work every single day. He loves the thing and using it daily is how he convinced himself to spend the $, as they are not cheap. I am fairly certain he goes out at lunch and takes a nap.

A 356 convertible or Speedster would be what I would buy. I do not have any interest in anything newer than the 997 from Porsche currently.

I am keeping an eye out for a manual transmission 928, but I don’t drive my 911 enough as it is and no garage space either.

Currently I would like to get a mid eighties Saab 900 turbo as a daily.

Been pondering a 914 too. I had one in HS and a drunk crashed into me totaling it. Such a fun car, but same as above; I don’t need another fun car that I can’t store and won’t drive enough.

^^^ I had an 88 900 Turbo. Phenomenal car.

That does remind me, a97-98 Saab 9000 Aero would be nice.

Buy one used. The first owner will take an unbelievable beat down on the conversion. If you get a 2022 or older, get the V6 diesel. Bulletproof 400k motor, roughly speaking.

Could I buy a Lamborghini Mirua? Yes. Would I have to live in the vehicle during retirement. Also yes.

Some sort of true built to taste euro hotrod/restomod. Early 911 with big motor and suspension or e30 bmw with modern drivetrain.

Only been willing to do minor bolt on stuff to every car ive owned. Usually for practical reasons. Id love a highly modded efi 930 for example but spending 100k to devalue a car buy 50k is too irrational for me at this stage in my life

100%. I’ll definitely buy used. So many people have low mileage vans. I’m tempted to go older to the last year of the 4x4 version. 2019 or 20.
