this is kinda weird

not sure why

My son (22) is having a bonfire party with friends (good! but it gonna be freezing)

The weird bit is one of the young ladies (21, i asked because i am strict about dui when leaving my house) looks incredibly like my 15 year old daughter. More so than my eldest daughter

Weird bit is having to decouple it all in my brain as I watch her doing a shot of whisky. I guess something is saying "3-4 years too early" in my head

Dunno ..

My ex of 10 years has a doppleganger in town somewhere.

First time I saw this ghost was while in a left turn lane in a snowstorm. She was kitty-corner pushing a couple shopping carts towards a grocery store a long block away. How odd. I had to look twice. There was no place to pull over and help. It was years after we split and she told me never to contact her, even though I initiated the separation. And besides. My ex would never do something that self-sacrificing and communal.

The second time was actually inside the store by happenstance. I glanced over a few times. Almost everything was the same. The hat and overcoat. Face wrinkles and crows feet. Even the eyes. But now blue instead of green. I'm standing five feet away. A slightly more square jaw but it has been a while. I said her name questioningly. This person's voice was definitly not my ex. I apologized and walked away. But holy carp. That was odd.

I can’t tell age anymore. I think, when I was of an age to have teenagers in the house, that I was more discerning, like you. But I see women and have no clue about their age. It’s gotten to the point that I wait for them to give me a sign. Women with teenagers look like to me they just got out of high school.

My thing is that, I have seen women that look like an old girlfriend that I had way back in the day in my life, only now older, so they look like what I would think my old girlfriend would look like.
I worked with a woman many years ago and she looked just like a girlfriend of mine and was super hot/beautiful/stunning, and we became friends. We lost touch after the plant we worked at closed. Last week, I downloaded TikTok so that I could watch a video that a lady coworker made, she wanted me to see her video okay so I downloaded the app. Anyway, I had TikTok for a few days and then I got a message from, guess who, my friend that looks like an old girlfriend and dayyyyuuuum, she is still smoking hot and is a surgical nurse now!!! We chatted for a bit, she is still super cool also!!! It has been about 15 years since I have seen her!!! The woman is 58 years old and puts 25 year old girls to shame I kid you not!!! Be still my heart!!!

I have lots of doppelgängers. 6' caucasian guy with a big nose. I guess there are lots of me. I have people stop me on the street weekly. Couple that with a very common name? I am sort of paranoid about stuff. Oddly enough, I have not ever had a bill or legal issue that was for someone else. Yet.

Conclusion. There really are only so many DNA combinations going around. We are all connected.

My son, when younger, had a doppleganger in the area (different town/school) and they were both involved in the same extra-curricular activities. It was weird.

Once in college, I was walking across campus and this gorgeous red-head walked up to me, slapped me, and started giving me the business about the wonderful night we had and how I totally ditched her afterward. She didn't believe me when I tried to explain that she had the wrong guy and stormed off in a huff. I occasionally replay that one in my head about how I could have better turned that conversation to my advantage...

In 1850, most people married folks within 10 miles of where they live, and they were in very small farming communities, so there's a great possibility one parent had children with multiple spouses. And that parent passed genes onto two different branches.

When you get old they all look the same…

I raised three kids on my own. My two daughters often invited their friends over for dinner or sleepovers (high school). Lots of teenage dramas with boys and stuff but nothing really bad happened to anyone in our house.

Looking back it was a great time in my life. It was a lot of hard work but I wouldn't change a thing.

I came from a small town in the Midwest. After four-five generations everyone starts to look alike.

There is a guy from a town called Christchurch here in NZ who looks just like me. His surname is McDonald. My uncle had met him thinking he was me and they talked for a while. A number of times I've been approached and called Mac. I wish I'd got contact details of this guy because it would have been fun to meet up and maybe prank people.

Absolutely, I see the same face on different people all the time.

I feel safe being Italian, Irish, Czech & Polish for good randomization but one of my best friends in college was Chinese (father) and Swiss mother, everyone thought we were brothers. I think more that were both dorks than anything. Miss him.

The flip side of that is my brother and I worked at the same restaurant at one time, I in the night, he in the day but was filling in one week for the chef at night. We look alike enough but when the waitstaff found out we were brothers they couldn't believe it. When we produced licenses, they thought they were fake and we were pranking them. That's how different I am from my brother. Thank god for that.

My wife has some cousins that the brother and sister of one family married the other brother and sister of a totally unrelated and different family. So no direct relationship, except their children were were double cousins. It made going to grandparents house for holidays easy! ;)

I have only met a handful of men named Glen in my lifetime. And only George Clooney looks like me.

A long time ago, I think I had heard that there are only like 130 or so basic face types and then there are different combinations of eyes noses etc and this is why facial recognition is able to work.

Just a memory I thought of and may or may not be very accurate... just like everything else I write or say!
