the Kamp-Rite TentCot?

I have a few solo truck camping events lined up. sleeping in the back of my truck is okay at best. and I might sell that truck anyways. and it will more than likely have my kayak and fishing gear in the back as well.

setting up a one-man tent is okay as well. with an air mattress. all my air mattresses are those super lightweight ones for backpacking. they are crinkly, and kinda delicate.

thinking about getting up off the ground now.

anyone use a KampRite? I like the quick set up/take down. I like not sleeping on the ground.

That looks like a nifty serup. How is it for rain protection? The flat looking roof looks a little sketchy for rain.

Looks sort of like what the Australians call 'swags'... Very common over there.

This is our version (I slept on one for years when I was supporting remote Gov sites).

Also... Have you considered using a Quilt instead of a Sleeping bag? I switched to Quilts many years ago and there's no going back.

I use my minivan for a camper. Dry, comfortable, and plenty of room. I have a power station which I use as needed to run my coffee maker, toaster over, and whatever else I might need or want.
It is nicer than a pickup for camping and it only takes 10-15 minutes to setup and take down.

This waterhole is bout 600 kilometers from my house.

Honestly the options are almost endless and there's a lot to be said for being off the ground especially in Australia.

The orange cot belongs to a friend. Mine is similar but just standard Army green.

mmm Flatty like. That'd be great for my astronomy trips. Instead of the big Copper Canyon tent I can set that up under my 10x 10 pop-up EZPz and still have room for my cooking gear and chairs. Nice!

Daughter has a hammock tent she likes a lot. It does require trees within 30' of each other with the extension ropes.

Would think this would be similar.

Whenever I Cowboy camp my modern touch is Boric Acid powder around the perimeter for Ants.
Any state or national park in California have Ants that have their DNA telling them to hunt for tents and tires.
