This is just awful. While I can honestly disparage most of y'all for various personality defects, I can't think of any that I can pin on Seahawk. He is a prince among men. Strength to you. I am gutted by this news.

edgemar 04-16-2026 07:19 PM

Hoping for a miracle. Seahawk is da Best!

speeder 04-16-2026 07:42 PM

I’ve been offline today but this is awful news and of course I regret making a flip remark about him being fine on the other thread. We go back a ways and even though we’ve had some differences, I care deeply for him. We definitely have a history of making flip remarks. :)

Hoping for a miracle and your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Truly sorry to hear about this.

Don't know your dad personally but I can say he is the "best mod" here bar none. The genuine care, kindness, passion and patience shown while reaching out to all are apparent in his "work" in this online community.

All the best.

rattlsnak 04-16-2026 08:41 PM

Oh my goodness! Hard to hear this...

Best memory I have is several years ago he literally GAVE me a dirt bike ( Honda XR 250) to give to my son so we could ride together. We kept it for a few years before I passed it on to another deserving dad. Prayers sent!

HobieMarty 04-16-2026 08:55 PM

Seahawk, Sir, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Onward and Upward Sir and get well soon!!!

john70t 04-16-2026 09:35 PM

There are some people you encounter in life who you immediately understand. A good man. A man you always want on your side. Seahawk is one of them. He creates more with everyone and everything around him regardless of how the situation started out. With honor, with humility, and with more than a teaspoon of humanity. It shows in everything around him. His work, his family, his flock.

Paul, you've been a noble warrior your entire life. This is just one more challenge to get through. You know what to do. Fight the good fight and do not stop. On this side or the other you'll have an army on your side and will always know you did your best. We are all counting on you to be back at the helm.

Paul...damnit...you made me believe that maybe there's something to this UFO stuff...

I'm hoping that you can beat the odds of this and hang with us a bit longer. I mean, if I can make it out of an ICU after having been paralyzed...a tough guy like you...

Thanks for letting us all know you...Paul

Paul is the best of the best and we didn't always see things the same way...

He can call me Ace or Sport any time he desires .... and I would welcome it .... again.

Get well Paul!

When I was a puppy on this forum I posted a thread about my truck being stolen right in front of on my home. I fantasized about getting a gun. Seahawk offered me a rifle that he had. Although I never took him up on it his generosity has always had me feeling he was my friend. Hoping for the best.🙏

I just had a chance to read the OP ....in tears right now.

The good people here keep me coming back ...

Thank you all ...

Especially Paul... with the utmost respect Sir!

Danimal16 04-17-2026 02:06 AM

I need to collect my thoughts and will get you and your Dad a pm.

I PRAY, for the best outcome and the most comfort for all of you, and all of us.

Sometimes it is hard to put into words, but maybe just this:

Paul, you are loved, you can count on that, Shipmate.

stevej37 04-17-2026 02:24 AM

Hoping you are feeling better soon, Paul.

Tim Hancock 04-17-2026 02:55 AM

Just logged on this morning to this... :(

I never met Paul although we tried planning a meet up once when he was considering traveling through Ohio enroute during a trip west. Many great conversations with Paul.... I have the utmost respect for him. Hoping for a miracle here "Don't give up the ship" Paul.

Seahawk is a wise man. I thank him for Suggesting the book on Quannah Parker among many other things.

berettafan 04-17-2026 03:11 AM

Thank you for this post. It is tough to read but I know we are all grateful you took the time to share. I don't think I have the words right now to properly express my feelings on this but please let him know that my respect for him in this community is such that I never wanted to disappoint him as a moderator and fellow human being.

Skytrooper 04-17-2026 03:33 AM

Paul, you have always been a Class Act ! Your interactions on this forum have been memorable. The stories and pictures you have shared were wonderful! Your advice was typically spot on. You have a remarkable talent for respecting both sides of a disagreement. This talent made you a truly fantastic mod. That has been an irreplaceable gift to PPOT. Thank you for caring about the forum and all of us knotheads. A Class Act.

I am also just devastated by your diagnosis/ prognosis. I am praying for the best outcome. Whichever way this goes, you have my respect and appreciation. I am proud to have been associated with you, although never meeting. As a former Flightdeck Sailor I bid you “ Fair winds and Following Seas”

Thanks for everything Paul !

ramonesfreak 04-17-2026 03:42 AM

Sorry Seahawk. Without knowing you in person, I felt something wasnt not right. Unfortunately, I was right. All your advice and wisdom you have shared over the years is in my head somewhere waiting to be applied when the time is right. I used to say what would Lemmy do. Now I find myself saying what would Seahawk do….really.

God bless you sir.

astrochex 04-17-2026 03:52 AM

Horrible news.

Thank-you daughter Seahawk, for coming here to provide an update on your beloved father. I can't really add much to the heartfelt responses here. Besides his balanced and respectful interactions with all here, I loved his sense of humor. When he was a moderator, he would close toxic topics with a quip or meme that was always spot-on. A compilation of those would be spectacular.

I pray for God's comfort for Paul and your family and loved ones. May the sure hope of the resurrection provide strength in the most difficult of times.

Respectfully,
Paul
