Kyle Busch R.I.P.

Accomplished NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, 41 died after a sudden illness and hospitalization, wow. Two-time Cup champion, arguably one of the few pure talents left in the series. Wondering what caused his death?

Saw that. Not my favorite driver but it is a terrible thing at 41 years old. RIP Kyle.

I don't follow Crashcar and the drivers but I did notice he was FORTY-ONE!
That's probably 20+ years less than the age of most of us here.
Think about that for a minute.
No one is promised to see tomorrow.

Very tragic. I’ll admit that I’m extremely curious about the cause of death, though. This is a weird one.

He was fighting a respiratory illness of some sort for several weeks. Had to radio at the Glen 2 weeks ago to ask to have a doctor friend meet him in the pits after the race. He said at the time he had been fighting a sinus infection for a bit before that. I guess we'll find out it was something worse, and maybe be an alarm bell for others.
I'm not a Nascar guy, but I have to admit that this shook me a bit. It had to really shake Denny Hamlin, who's been saying on social media all season that Kyle was "washed up." Hope it doesn't haunt him...

I suppose this can happen to anyone, but 41 is young.

In the early 2000’s, a guy I knew through work, passed away at 35. He’d ridden his bike, sat in his chair in the family room and died.

My condolences to his friends, family and the NASCAR community.

Hantavirus? Covid?

Definitely makes me wonder why I've had twice the trips around the sun than he got.

BTW, NASCAR is a bit like pro wrasslin in that it casts drivers as bad and good guys...much of it hype. But make no mistake, anybody racing at that level is one hellofa driver...because he's there.

I guess we'll know soon enough but it could be anything from an aneurism to an infection that just shut everything down. Unfortunately, that's what happened to Seahawk, just not suddenly.

Kyle was talking about retiring at the end of this year. He's got a son that is upcoming and Kyle was going to take the son under his wing next year (if the retirement did happen) very unlike Dale did with Dale Jr.

Kyle did a midget car session for grins, in his words. He came away with a lot of respect for dirt car drivers. He did run a race but the regulars ate him up. He was good with what he was good at. He's got his son on the dirt at 10 years old!

Much too young, so sad. I used to follow NASCAR and remember when Kyle got started. He was very cocky in his early days and definitely matured over the years. He wasn't really one of my favorite drivers at the time but he was fun to watch, very entertaining. I just wonder why they have only said he had a severe illness and nothing specific? Regardless, Rest In Peace KB!!!

My guess the nasal infection went to his brain and shut things down . Way too young . Best wishes to his family . RIP

I had a bout of sinus infections and my doctor was quick to prescribe the proper antibiotics. He said sinus infections can indeed cross the brain barrier and be deadly.

RIP to a great driver, and he died way to young.

"The medical evaluation provided to the Busch Family concluded that severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming associated complications,” the family said in a statement. "The Family asks for continued understanding and privacy during this difficult time."
