Sucia Island Seaplane Crash
I'd like to hear opinions from aviation people here.
Kind of a miracle he was basically able to beach the plane and unload everyone to land? Can think a water landing with a burning plane would have been the worst thing ever. ![]() Plane was heading west then did a 180 and flew back and sort of crashed into the end of a cove on Sucia Island which is a park island heavily visited by boaters. Here's the adsb trace: https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a976df&lat=48.695&lon=-122.932&zoom=11.3&showTrace=2026-07-24 ![]() Sure we need to wait to hear the official story but I'd still like to hear opinions. |

That's a big turbine powered plane run by an established company. Bird strike?
