Does anyone have this for their car? Either XM or Sirius radio?

The audi I bought only has a tape deck and I HATE conventional radio because of all the commercials. I was thinking about just getting a new head unit with a CD player but I can't find any that will match my interior. So I was thinking that I would just get one of the satilite radios and put that in my car and wait as long as I can and see if I like it or not. I'm thinking that I may not even need a CD player after. And if I find that I do, I'll just get a CD changer and hide it in the trunk.

What do you think????

I don't personally have satellite radio, but own a fair amount of stock in both XM and Sirius. Personally, if I was to pick one I'd go with XM, $3 a month cheaper, very *few* commercials, but much more solid of an outfit and a larger subscription base. Better user technology as well...Delphi just rolled out a module for them that receives the XM signal and can be placed in an in dash head unit, in a portable stereo for the home, etc. (kinda like a removable face for a car stereo). Sirius will pick up, but has dragged their rear rolling out a chip for so long their stock is under $2 a share now...I see them bought out in a year or two anyway, but who knows. XM and Sirius shares and offerings should both improve over the next year or so as the stuff is offered OEM in new cars and lease vehicles from the auto manufacturer.

But what do I know...

i install both XM and sirius, and i listen to it most of the day at work........and so far sirius has kept me the happiest as far as variety goes.......and no commercials which i feel is important to fully enjoy it.
sirius also has the technology in place to transmit video, but will not be in operation for at least 2 years from my understanding.

XM does have some great stations and a wide variety... but the channels i like have commercials, and that kills it for me personally.

AND most authorized kenwood dealers are having a promotion where when you buy a kenwood reciever you get the $99 sirius receiever for free, you'll still need the sat antenne for it to work ($60-100)
but the basic cost for needed components for sat radio between XM and sirius are very similar, except for the monthly charge of course.
both services also have discounts if you pay for a year FYI :)
