Same product, same price, same.... wait a minute

It just keeps getting worse. The "40lb" bag of dog food has shrunk again. The last time I looked it was 36lb. I wonder why the settled on strange numbers like 31.1 lb and 14.1kg. Why so precise?

If the price is the same, it could be to sneak it through without people noticing they're getting a price/pound increase. Shrinkflation. You might want to shop for a lower net price on Amazon and Chewy, for example.

I paid $7.99 for a pint of Graeter's ice cream yesterday. Still a pint, very little air, and the best ice cream you can ever buy (IMHO), but I remember when $6.49 was pushing it. Was happy to pay $6.99 up until yesterday. Might call them and ask about it. Still worth it but I will end up losing some weight with the price hike.

I feel the same about Tillamook ice cream; the huge price increases and smaller containers make it more of a treat than the 'staple' it used to be. Occasionally it'll be on sale half price. I'll grab a couple and enjoy the windfall.

(I can't buy pints because I'll eat the whole thing and feel like a dope. I get the "half gallons" - hah- so I can at least pretend that I won't eat too much.)

^^^ Tillamook is very good too. Their German Chocolate Cake is truly excellent with a deeper chocolate taste than any other I've ever had. Their customer service is nice too, they sent me coupons for writing to them telling them as such and that the development deserves an award or something like that. The early batches did have more cake in them I'm sad to say but am not complaining to them. That said, cake is probably cheaper than ice cream so I wonder why they went down in cake pieces.

They're definitely hoping no one notices. This bag came from Chewy, they send it every 5 weeks.

I just laugh at the grocery store these days (to prevent crying?). Just havent made peace with $7/box cereal and 12$/bag apples yet.

Costco seems to be pretty cheap on giant dog food bags, our shelter mut seems to have an iron stomach so I don't shop that carefully for doggo chow

I feed my cat this stuff, Trader Joe's sells it for $8.99 a bag. God help me if they ever stop stocking it because the next cheapest place, (Chewy), is double:
