I think my window cleaning days are over

Look at this thing. I really want...$$

I have the wonderful job every three months of cleaning the windows. The back and side of the house must be done with a 20' ladder, bucket, squeegee, and who know what. That ladder is getting heavier by the year. With this thing, I can do it with a glass of wine on one hand and cig on the other. Open window, slip it on there and set it free. Hell, it can do my shower door, as well as all my french doors too not to mention the reduction on final cleaning fees or window washing people when my jobs are done. Looks like it will do tiles walls too.

A friend send me this and he's also tired of cleaning windows after I was btiching about having to clean my windows at the house in this heat. He's thinking about buying it also.

Its an automatic window cleaning device. It has a longish cord that draws clearing solutions to this suction device with spinning heads. One cleans the other polishes. Think of a Rumba but for windows and it doesn't requires programming but it has a remote. It suppose to sense corners and does the entire window. Upon finishing, dip the cleaning pads in the solution or water tank on the mother ship, it spins and cleans the pads. Beauty is, the entire thing is cordless, no plug, battery operated.

No more water running down one's armpits up on top of a 20' ladder. With this, I can open up my upstairs window, stick the scrubbing head onto the glass from the outside, sit down and come here and pester you folks and relocate it to another window. No reaching, no more cussing, all unicorn farts

I guess I'll struggle on at $600. I did window washing at the beach on Saturdays for gas money in high school. I found I could make up to $30/hr cash in the '60's. Dollar a pane no matter what size, inside and out plus wash the screens. It all averaged out even though beach front windows tend to be bigger and more.

Had to lean out of a lot of windows sitting on the sill and hanging on with one hand. Used to take less than a minute to do a 3 x 3 pane on the outside and about 30 seconds for each inside. Lots of old sheets and towels for the floor, walls, etc. The window gear consisted of 3 items, a lamb's wool washer, an 18" Ettore' squeegee and a high quality chamois. I used Ettore's washing powder per instructions. Any troublesome areas I sprayed distilled water on it for a rinse, used a clean chamois and walked away. No streaks or spots.

I see they use ionized water now. Leaded glass windows were never a problem. Spray them with Glass Plus (never Windex) and wipe them in all directions with a nice fluffy terrycloth towel. Perfect. I could do house windows better than a car.

Old timers used wadded newsprint when the ink wasn't vegetable based and would rub off on your hands. Something about that old ink that polished glass. Newsprint doesn't work that well now. And I use Sprayway foam now, the best there ever was. Unless it's a sliding glass door. on those back to the old "snaking."

I've been using these for years....and happy with the results. One package contains a wash cloth and a polishing cloth. Just wet the wash cloth with plain water to clean the window and use the polishing cloth to dry the window....never any streaks. Washable in the machine.
One package will last a couple years easily.

I still use a ladder for the second story, but they don't get dirty as fast as the main floor windows.

I own one of these!! I use it to clean the windshield on the cybertruck. It works pretty well at that.
