Theres a video doing the rounds on Bike safety from the 60's america, I think its title is
'and one got fat'
It begins with a boy demonstrating the approved hand signals, and then his gang setting off on their bikes through sububurbia knocking people over/falling down a manhole/steamroller/car door
culminating in the last but our hero, entering a busy road tunnell without lights.
