Comment based only on a short stop-light dialogue where it was clear they knew nothing of the car, what transmission etc. I finally had to ask how many foot pedals? But I'll take my lumps - they were also headed into the city, and I was headed to my desk. |

The soldier is shooting from the deck of a boat, with a US Marine Gunnery Sergent instructor, as part of the Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training CARAT Timor-Leste is part of an annual bilateral exercise series between the U.S. Navy and the naval forces of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand. As a longstanding venue in Southeast Asia, CARAT helps regional navies work together to address shared maritime security priorities during a series of cooperative training events and subject matter exchanges. The F-FDTL was established in February 2001 I believe the photo was taken aboard the USS Kidd in 2014. |

I have, however, fired many thousands of rounds while out prairie dog or rock chuck hunting. Not so much for prairie dogs, but definitely for rock chucks, one of the more successful strategies is to shoot down from a high escarpment of some kind, across an intervening ravine, at an opposing rock face. Downward angles can get pretty severe; probably more so than from a ship's deck or high building. With the prairie dogs, we often belly up to the crest of a grassy knoll and shoot down.
