I'd like to see the machine that rolled the beam to that shape.

it's just not feng shuei and chit you know..
the nice round roof line, then that squared off beam.. (and now i looked at it more, the square house under the roof bugs me too).. For me, it's a failed execution of a great idea. It looks more like a technology/material demo then an architectural masterpiece. That roof should (and i'm sure can be) have been made self supporting, the building under it, should have been more in tune with the roof.. The lines just don't flow nicely once you start to look at the details.. Now Niemeyer, has every angle covered. Everything flows. it's complete, in and out. http://www.designboom.com/cms/images.../ravello01.jpg http://www.thecoolhunter.com.au/images/para6.jpg His designs are second to none. |

whats the point of these exhaust tips and what are they called?

Lots of people ask that and few know the answer. One theory is that it acts as a reverse cone to tune the scavenging effect of the exhaust into the desired rpm range.

They are commonly referred to as "cookie cutters". Not to be confused with the wheels, of course. |
i figured its probrobly to keep the velocity consistent as it exits the pipe and reduce the effects off the windstorm behind the car at 200mph
