From the website: THE SALOON STORY I needed to rebuild our dilapidated woodshed. It was originally intended to be a simple replacement but one idea led to another and what evolved over a couple years was an 11 ft X 30 ft "saloon". It serves double-duty as woodshed, garden shed, workshop, and storage...but, to me, it's mostly a saloon. Two conceptual themes emerged early in the planning: 1) all recycled wood; 2) only materials that existed circa 1880 (no plywood, particle or chip board, no sheetrock, no plastics, nothing high-tech). Much of the exterior lumber is recycled, creosote- soaked river-wharf timber. Most of the interior paneling--as well as the bar itself-- came from disassembled loading dock pallets. |
