I needed to rebuild our dilapidated woodshed. It was originally intended to be a simple replacement but one idea led to another and what evolved over a couple years was an 11 ft X 30 ft "saloon". It serves double-duty as woodshed, garden shed, workshop, and storage...but, to me, it's mostly a saloon. Two conceptual themes emerged early in the planning: 1) all recycled wood; 2) only materials that existed circa 1880 (no plywood, particle or chip board, no sheetrock, no plastics, nothing high-tech). Much of the exterior lumber is recycled, creosote- soaked river-wharf timber. Most of the interior paneling--as well as the bar itself-- came from disassembled loading dock pallets.

Yup, I find this incredible. Back in the 80s, we had no idea where it is...now, we have visited in on numerous occasions and we have technology that can scan 15 square miles using sonar to see the entire debris field. Incredible.
