Looks like I found a short in my drill. Didn't realize it until the damage was done...counted 10 burn marks on my fingerss. And man they hurt...

Ouch. What type of drill were you using?

I just sold my dad's 1950s metal cased Sears electric drill. It had no reverse or variable speed and was not double insulated. It worked but I would never use it and I don't need any more stuff to store.

Dude. Are those electrical or thermal burns?
Electrical burns are not limited to the surface. There can be significantly more damage internally.
It might be fine, or you might lose finners.
Seeing a specialist might be in order.
