My theory is that the state architect was a fan of the post modern movement which often featured tiny square windows. Then he combined the concept of a "mountain" with it, and was executed before he could finish the drawings. Just a theory.;) Ryugyong Hotel: Transforming a Vast Concrete Skeleton into a Glass-clad Skyscraper Ryugyong Hotel: Concrete Skeleton to Glass-clad Skyscraper | Urban Ghosts | http://www.urbanghostsmedia.com/home...yong-Hotel.jpg Michael Graves & Associates' "Portland Building" added to National Historic Register Michael Graves & Associates' "Portland Building" added to National Historic Register | Michael Graves & Associates | Archinect http://cdn.archinect.net/images/650x...sm6hderr7x.jpg North Korea: Ryugyong, Pyongyang’s Hotel of Doom, is Still Empty http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/388791/20120927/north-korea-ryugyong-pyongyang-hotel-doom-empty.htm http://img.ibtimes.com/www/data/imag.../27/308126.jpg Quote:

All of those are valid reasons. BUT, I stayed in a motel in Arkansas in the back woods in a little town that my wife still calls the Bates motel. It looked like it was from a horror movie set. Our room was a building by itself with furnishing from 1960. It was in a very wooded area and tree limbs rubbed against the roof. The shower was horrid, and the bed felt like it was stuffed with dead cats. Since my wife booked the reservation on line from photos of the place I just grinned and still tease her about the place. It was not a great place.
