BTW, have you heard Nina Blackwood on Sirius? She sounds older than my grandmother (if she were still alive). She is in her 50's but sounds in her 80s. Must have been a heavy smoker.

Several Privateers were used as fire-fighting waterbombers until a few years ago.

Metal fatigue reared it's ugly head on one and just as it dropped it's load, both wings just folded up. All on board were lost.

I wondered if it was totally the fault of fatigue.

The B-24 was famous for having the wings just fold up with very slight damage (unlike the B-17; a tank).
