Aircraft parked in Bangkok, part of a technical school at the old airport. My aircraft was next to it and something about those engines just didn't look right. So I walked over, and they didn't look any better.

Yer teefas don't look so good but yer gums aint bad ..... aka i wondered what that noise was.

I have to ask: Why the styrofoam engines, training?

I flew with the RTN for a few weeks. It was the first time I saw rat guards on helicopter tie-downs, on the wheel struts.

What look wet is just a shadow in the frame...

Imagine a giant radiator, 3 stories tall and 1000 feet long, with a bunch of fans running along the top.
And ya got a series of 150 hp motors running long drive shafts connected to right angle gearboxes with the fans attached to them.

That's where the gearboxes in them pics came from. Pretty severe service, running in steam 24/7 for 10 years at a time.
