Herr Oberst,

While I love the Robert Williams painting (saw it in person in So Cal once) this style of Merc custom is pretty standard for that era. Tons of little detail differences between the two, IMHO. If you would like, I can take you to school on the subject at the next PDX BnB!

Alright, I thought I could sneak some secondhand knowledge through here and I was busted. Caught out flat-footed!

Since you loaned me the book on Williams, and your knowledge of customs is vast, I will capitulate without much of a defense.

(BTW, Marc Maron had a great interview with Williams a few weeks back, you should take an hour and have a listen.. the guy is brilliant, and articulate. Fun listen!
