I built the 'Custom Cabover' so I could enter a truck Mark Gustavsons' Custom Clinic Contest in Scale Auto. It actually did better than I expected, and earned a 7th Place overall, and a picture in the magazine, with Mark calling the design "well integrated".

Funny that they were turned down by many labels before they got a record deal. "Ace of Base" that some say was an ABBA clone was turned down by ABA's label. While nowhere near as famous, they had some success.

Yup, Decca turned them down. Bet they regretted that.

Decca exective, Dick Rowe (1921-1986) was to go to his grave denying his epithet of "guitars are on the way out". According to Rowe, it was actually Mike Smith who gave the Beatles the thumbs-down.

I guess they didn't get their upfront bribe.
