Took the 930 out for its annual inspection. While at my mechanics, some flippers were looking for Porsches and asked if it was for sale. I told him yeah, if he has $200k. He said that's about right and went on his way. On the 1 mile trip back, someone else pulled up to me in traffic and asked the same thing. I gave him the same answer. It is really irritating driving this car with all the scammers around. Hell, the last time I had her out was a few weeks ago and some old guy was across the street and pulled up as I was washing her. Turns out he has a 997GT3 and a new 991.2 GT3 RS. He brought the RS by the next week, but talking Porshes with him sure is time consuming.

Some odd things about this photo shoot.

"Control Tower"?

Not aircraft I suspect, maybe for an electric fence in a reserve?

Looks like a thatch roof on a one story building, not a tower.

And the material for the cones, looks like self-adhesive contact paper.

Overall, still a very dynamic and textural photo of passing interest.

The animal head on the control tower sign which flank the letters, a cool detail.

The ratio of stone to mortar is also interesting. The use of these material does not typically go with an expendable roof material, just odd.

That's nothing. When I'm driving one my un-restored cars around, it brings them out like bees to honey - seeing a humble, original-condition car is like blood in the water for these sharks. A few weeks ago, I was setting up a Westfalia tent on my bus to take pictures, and a guy rolled up and offered me a generous $100 on the spot.

I saw an ad for one of those "We buy any classic car" sites, so on a troll I sent them pictures of my '52 bug and told them I was interested in selling. They offered me $4500 for it.
