#1 reminds me of an oldie but a baddie. I wish I knew more about the circumstances surrounding this. Was it just so powerful that it was really hard to drive or was the driver drunk or... This happened not too far from where I am, probably not more than a mile from here.

That kind of power can give you a headache and tunnel vision.

If it was her first time stepping on it like that she could have phased out the moment it took off.

Modern TC, Stability Control, and Anti-Lock brakes help a lot.

I wouldn't blame the tires, that thing bit and took off despite spinning them.

Trust me, those tires are horrible for that car and she did roll through some water, but even if she had not those do not hook up well. The car took off because they weigh very little. If it had posi it probably spun one, transferred power to the one with better traction, got her sideways and by then it was too late.

The GT II and BFG Radial T/A are called slicks for a reason.
