You got that right, luckily it was just a hoax.
But the reason the hoax worked is there is much pumpkin spice dumbness, a pumpkins spice beer would not be un-possible.

Most folks thought it was either going to be John Wiebe holding out in one of the last competitive slingshots, or Don Prudhomme in his rear engined "Yellow Feather". Hot Rod magazine did a multi-page write-up on the two cars, examining which would do it first and why. Turns out it was neither - Mike Snivley did it first. Don Prudhomme, however, did manage the first five second Funny Car run.

LOL, they came right out and said it in their ads, their cars were leaky, oil-burning POS.

Oooh yeah - my dad took us kids every year. When I got old enough, I drove myself every year until they quit doing it. John Denver used to do the radio ad - "drag racing is faaaaaar out!!!!"

Seattle International Raceway, 1976. They lined 'em up down the whole track and fired 'em up all at once. Pretty freekin' awesome:

Other than the oil use, the other specs seem impressive and like it would have been a fun little car. It's a good looking little thing.

I'd like to drive one
