He was lucky. IIRC, one of the findings of the investigation was that the 1981 Cadillac Eldorado was the only year where there was a steel plate under the seat. This deflected the blast away from him.

At an old office I worked at one chick in particular was skinny and attractive, and liked to wear thin light weight clothing. It was nice to look at, but she was always cold. I told her many times to put on sweater. Finally I had a stroke of genius. Since she sat at the computer with no internet connection she would only move when a customer came in. I suggested she get the vacuum cleaner out, and vacuum the front foyer. That little bit of activity would warm her up, and she got to exercise and stay skinny.
