You were right...as usual...this is a great thread to sub to now. I have a date with the guy in Fresno for that pristine silver R75 on Wed. Toaster tank is on hold.

The pics you sent me of your bike looked like it was silver.... What is it?

FWIW, I did find a guy in San Diego who has an R75/6 with side car for $5K...they are out there. Just keep scanning the net...Craig's list, etc. I do it 2x per day sometimes...

Even a bike newbie like me knows this one. The infamous Black Shadow, the only bike to ever scare Hunter S. Thompson.

An acquaintence's "Packenburg"; original Packard touring car with a Duesenburg overhead valve straight eight. Documented period conversion done in the '30's; only a couple done. He has a photo album documenting the build. Yes, with period photos taken by the shop doing the conversion work in the '30's, complete with hand written notes from the shop owner. Car guys never change...

I rode the identical bike - same colour even - for 4 years. Lived in Singapore at the time - but rode it all over Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia - and even into Vietnam. Wonderful machine!

A silver '73 R75/5 I'm looking at next week and likely will buy. Add a toaster tank and it will change the look dramatically. Also a sidecar rig on an R75/6 available in San Diego for $5K....crappy pic but all I have.
