My 8 year old took a wicked fall at the skatepark this morning that would have been really ugly without a helmet.

He does a lot of stuff that seems big and fast to me, for an 8 year old. Here's on a recent trip out west.

Those pictures of teh SES100A bring back memories. My dad was a test engineer on that program in the 70s. I would fly chase in the helicopter. I drew dozens of pictures of that ship when I was a kid.

Troy

Was it the front cabin SES100A or the aft cabin SES100B crews which recieved the 100 knot pins?

One of the much later SES's have been fitted with a mid-mounted lifting body wing/foil.

Surface Effect Ships. Within the Aerodynamics Department at Carderock, work on advanced surface effect ships began as early as 1957, leading to SES 100A by Aerojet-General (foreground) and 100B by Bell-Textron in the early 1970s.
