that is the rub with prions...tough as nails. Cooking doesn't phase them at all.

I suppose anything that would disrupt them would also kill the consumer...

Wasn't there some guy that was experimenting with prions as a means to combat disease as well? Sort of a targeted strike that was more effective to anti-biotics and wouldn't allow things to become accustomed to them? Off this topic I know..
