Double wall horizontal pipe for pool heater?
We are finishing a house, and the gas pool heater that requires a 4 inch double wall pipe, that will go up 5 feet and then out, to the outside, 9 feet.
My buddy went to HVAC house and they said they didn’t have horizontal pipe. We will use a 90 out of the heater, go up 5 feet, to a 90, and then take it straight out side 9 feet. We will need a flange where it goes through the raised foundation slats and cap of some type as well on the exterior. What kind of pipe do I need for horizontal applications? |

I have no experience in this, but maybe combustion exhaust can’t really go horizontally, so that’s why it isn’t sold?

This is the exhaust stack? A pool supply house will have what you need. Make a drawing with dimensions and it should be a one stop and done affair. They deal with this every day.

Good idea on the pool supply house. The goober pool installer didn’t order the pipe and now we’re scrambling to get it time.
I’m going check some hvac supply house tomorrow. |

Up here it was called B-vent. Double wall used in cool environments (attics) or if single wall vent is to close to combustibles. Any hvac supply wholesaler should carry it.

The whole thing should be done right. Read the manufacturers instructions. The condensate needs to go somewhere…
There’s real requirements for gradient so the condensate can drain back. Read the instructions in their entirety. |
