NFL Draft.

Moments after Pat Tillman is honored for rejecting millions in order to serve his country and make the ultimate sacrifice, Eli Manning pouts about being asked to make millions in San Diego. What a whiner. Poor Eli doesn't like San Diego? Let him try Fallujah.

Perhaps there are memories of Archie's days in N.O. It could be ironic though if S.D. does make the playoffs this year.

Now there is a fantasy!

juanbenae 04-26-2004 11:12 AM

tom couglan (SP?) the new giant head coach is a hard ass and eli will wish he'd have stayed with SD. the NY press will have him in a year or two...

Archie is an idiot. He should stick to selling aluminum siding. Bo Jackson did the same thing when Tampa drafted him without causing a huge media spectacle. I could care less who Eli plays for if hes not playing in a Silver and Black jersey. I'm just glad he finished the most important game of his college career sitting on his ass as time ran out and LSU won the SEC West. GEAUX TIGERS!

Oakland picked another offensive tackle so I have nothing to say .

You're kidding, right? Robert Gallery is a great pick.

Not really. He’s a great player no question. I just cringe every time someone drafts a Tackle that high. I think the only time I didn't cringe was when it was Tony Boselli, and that's probably only because it wasn’t Oakland that drafted him. I think it’s extremely difficult to judge a good Tackle (no matter how quick their feet are in college) before they play in the league. The Guard position doesn’t make me as nervous. Mo Collins worked out good for them. Hopefully Gallery will also.

O Line is an area that Oakland needs help in, no question. I just can't understand why they can't ever (never in the history of the team) go after a franchise quarterback. They should have moved on Pennington in 2000 and I think they should have made a move for Eli this time. It wouldn’t be Raider football, but Raider football hasn’t worked for a long time.

Maybe not. Like me, he's a Raider fan. We tend to have tunnel vision.

Come February of '05...we'll all be NFL geniuses, right? ;) Oh, and keep your eyes on Marshall Faulk's "backup" with the Rams...barring injury, he could become "special"...not that running backs survive long...

vash 04-26-2004 07:48 PM

raider fans are insane. i love those commercials they played that superbowl year!

i wont even mention my sucky arse team i secretly root for.

pwd72s 04-27-2004 07:38 PM

Hey, the "fer-dy noners" had their moments...Alas, not many since Joe retired. The problem in the N.W.? Locally, I'm expected to root for the Sea Turkeys because they are in Seattle. Why doesn't Portland, Orygun have a N.F.L. team? Because if they did, Seattle would want one too...

Go Lions

lendaddy 04-28-2004 07:29 AM

Yes, the Lions are running out of excuses for not making the playoffs. I expect a good year 9-7.
