Apparently, there are some feelings of inadequacy out there

I'm not sure what emotional void these things fill, but they all were big crowd-pleasers at this year's SEMA show.

Beleive me, I set it down very gently.

Its no secret, its the prototype of the Lightning Chassis, since dicontinuted. billet machined 7075 T6. Worth a couple hundred bucks to the right buyer. Very tough, could drive an SUV over it.

Its for an RC car.

This is my production chassis. I took the above picture for selling the protoype. Owner has been wanting to sell it for some time. I found a buyer and took the pictures.

Er - pardon , no comprendo - quesque c'est?

And how big is it anyway?

Oh, and whats it for?

Saintly 11-08-2005 07:18 PM

It's an aluminium Remote Control (RC) Car.
Looking at the pic it has twin electric engines, double rear shocks, single front, aluminium arms, towers, bumpers and everything else.
The flat areas on either side of the first photo with the ribs would be where the batteries live.
Quite long arms so I'm guessing a monster truck and it would be very tough to break.
looks a little large for 1/10th scale so I'll guess 1/8th

correction, the twin shocks look like they are on the front.

I was testing jsut two in the back at the time. Went back to 4 all around. Its a 1/0th monster truck. I run it on 14 Sub C cells. Good for at least 300 watts of output from the motors. Peak discharge on the packs while running though is more in the 500-700watt range, but with the ineefeciency I don't think its quite putting t hat much power to the ground(768 watts is one HP).

Look at the picture with the red car to see my truck with body and wheels. Diferent chassis in the picture though. If you want a few more pictures of these beasts, check out the gallery at www.unlimitedengineering.com

I don't mean to be a d*ck, but these photos are from your recent trip to the United Kindom not Europe. Just wanted you to know as it might upset a few people from the places that you took those photos.

Except for Mallorca, you can call that Europe!

StevoRocket 11-11-2005 07:13 PM

I dont mean to upset anyone either - but he seems to have forgotten that the UK IS IN EUROPE!

DOH!

So you DID visit Europe - a full list of the countries can be found by searching Google for "members of the European community".

We always thought it was Americans who didn't know geography!

White87911,

The United Kingdom is in Europe. It joined the European Union in 1973. Spain didn't join until 1986.

Thanks though.

Paul.

I guess you are right, but the 3 times I have been there in the past 3 years, 9 out of 10 people I meet thast live there would not refere to England as part of Europe.

By the way, Nice photos! How come the wife is in the back seat?

I find it strange that everyone equates natural draft or hyperbolic cooling towers with nuclear plants. Even Time magazine showed a little Cessna in front of one after 9/11, I guess to frighten us into thinking terrorists would spray warm water all over us.

FYI, the fuel rods are stored in a containment building that a 747 could hit without a radioactive release.

djmcmath 11-12-2005 06:22 AM

People also associate nuclear power with large animals, mutations that give multiple heads or eyes (see Matt Groening's "Blinky, the Three-Eyed Fish"), glow-in-the-dark radiation, and Really Big Explosions(tm). Movies where the main character starts the reactor by installing the control rods and video games where the reactor is started by securing the coolant pumps don't help any.

(sigh) Oh, well.

And I've never met a self respecting Irishman who would refer to any part of Ireland is part of the UK.
I think most of us would see these type distinctions as just a matter of pride and perspective. But they'll fight you over it...!

If you look in the mirror of my first pub photo, you can see that used the flash. I think it reflected back to the light sensor in the camera and negated itself. (But the place really is pretty dimly lit.) This photo, again with flash, may give a better idea of of the actual lighting.

This is "Ye ole cider bar" in Newton Abbot, a "drinking only" place that just serves cider and local made wine. what a fan-freakin-tastic place, if you ever go through Newton Abbot (county of Devon) you have to stop by here.

This is myself and "Sandy Splitt" singing Scotland the Brave Accaopelo, during a break in the live folk performance at "The Hole In The Wall " in Torquay, Devon, England. This little Gem is in a back alley and I love it, I am 6'3" and the is NO WAY I cam stand up straight in this place!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131837794.jpg
This little Gem was taken at a Pub in Falmouth in Cornwall, (Name to remain anonymous) also a drinking place (no food) I ran the bar (yes, thats right, poured drinks and ran the register for 4 hours that night, the owner in in the photo, he and I hot it off real well. Although I fell down and smashed my head on the 2 mile walk back to my B & B at 2:00 am that night!

Anyone ever been to paradise? I have been close! The Maladive Islands, just South of India, was a wonderful place and very isolated so its not over-run by tourists.

Almost every island has its own hotel. We checked in and offered our credit card and they declined. Told us that "you are stuck here and we know where to find you!"

Each "room" is a hut.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131852523.jpg

The bathrooms are very interesting. Open the door to the bathroom and it opens up to a back yard with a 15 foot wall and thatched hut cover.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131852566.jpg

Everything is out in the open, even the potty. Shaded glass around it but thats it.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1131852618.jpg

Hot tub with a thatched roof, out in the open. Very nice late at night with a cocktail or glass of wine... and hopefully some company!

Beaches that do not end and very few people there. Clothing optional within reason.

Spent a week in the Maldives in the late 80's...on our way to Bombay. We were the first US ship to port in India in almost 17 years. Since India views the "Indian Ocean" as their domain, they require any US vessel leaving Diego Garcia to make an interim stop prior to coming inport to India. We stayed in Little Hura, a very small isalnd withour much to offer other than beauty.. I have nothing but praise for for India's resolve where the Maldives are concerned!
