it looks pink over white to me ,
that would be slightly high on glide slope. Without the VASI I would say slightly high http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1316120245.jpg |

I'm high on the glide slope, top just turning pink.
White over white fly all night. Red over white your all right. Red over red your dead. |

I guess there's a reason why they don't want color-blind pilots, cuz I have not clue what you guys are seeing in that photo!
BTW - what motor is that? Quote:

I suspect the motor is the V-8 from Mrmerlin's 928S4 that's in his signature. |

When I transitioned from Hornets to Herks I was high on final a lot due to carrier approaches being steeper. My IP was very understanding.

its a 1987 928 S4 , 5.0 L 32valve 4 cam engine
Doing the standard water pump and timing belt as well as rebuild the timing belt tensioner and replace the oil pump O rings, and the front main seal About the light colors . These are are called a VASI= Visual Approach Slope Indicator, the lights on the left side of the runway will show a different color based upon how high you are over the ground at a certain point, its used to give a pilot an accurate guide to establish a safe usually 3 degree glideslope to the runway. As has been previously posted it appears that the far lights are turning pink from being white, and the near lights are white. This would indicate slightly higher on the desired 3 degree glideslope The readings of the lights are white over white = higher than 3 degree glideslope red over white = your on a 3 degree glideslope red over red = your below the 3 degree glideslope |
first two pictures are a 1984 928 16 valve single cam engine before and after the water pump and belt service this engine was a mess.
This 16V engine also had the passenger side cam bolt get loose this then let the cam pulley snap down the middle, then this in turn broke the driverside cam snout off requiring new pulleys and cams second two pictures are of my 1988 S4 before and after restoration of the car and the drive line http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1316312385.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1316312432.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1316312602.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1316312633.jpg |
