Jack Ryan Divorce Records?

Anybody have any opions on the paper suing to have his divorce records unsealed?

I was kind of surprised when the story broke nationally. Here in Chicago it's been pretty clear what was in the records since late last year - Jeri wasn't too vague. It's like suddenly everyone became embarrassed he was a candidate after the rest of the country found out. The guy could have worse habits than gettin' freaky, and I doubt Ryan would've been the only one - just the one we know about.

Mostly, I'm sorry that public opinion let the ex-Mrs. Ryan get in one last jab at him after the divorce - she's gotta be gloating over this one.

While I don't think it was right to delve into what should be a private matter I wonder how the liberals who pulled this off will deal with conservatives who now insist that John Kerry's divorce records be made public. Turn about is fair play after all. It still sets a bad precedent though and from what I understand both Jack and Jeri wanted the records kept sealed to protect their child (children) from embarrassment. IMO the rights and protection of a child far outweigh whatever the editors felt should have been public knowledge. Look we all know that many divorces can get nasty and allegations get thrown around, the problem is those allegations aren't necessarily fact.

It's like Cheney dropping the F-bomb. Yea, Kerry did it in a Rolling Stone interview, but he didn't do it at a Senator, and he isn't pushing for ultra strict regulations on the airwaves.

I think that the difference is Kerry said to to be "Hip" or "cool" like Bill playing the Sax on MTV. Dick appeared to be frustrated by what he felt was people lying about him. Still hasnet been proven he has done anything worng. People can make acusation all day long but without all fo teh facts its just speculation. If the right tries to get Kerrys divorce records that will be retarded too. There is no good reason for a news paper to be suing to unseal private records. and Jeff, dont think the hypocricy is only on one side of the isle.

Kerry is trying to maintain the act as the savior to the depressed blue collar worker. the critics will have a field day with the Heinz $. That will allow the Reps to explode the inner hate the depressed have for big bucks people imo. Then add to the package his incomplete sworn loyality to his fellow soldiers and commanders + +. So it'll be easy portray Kerry as a slime bag.
