The 500
Boris made the field, yeah! We all know our cars have a turning radius that goes L/R, given. Who amongst us, has the balls to pull those belts tight, and ... watch it while enjoying a cold one?

bunch of rednecks driving 500 miles in a circle...
boring |
Come on guys, the Daytona 500 is still car racing. I will be watching it. The cars are not Porsches and they do have a great deal of rules but in my opinion it is and will always be a portion of automotive history from the days when they were racing with real stock cars on Daytona Beach.

I'll be watchin' and wishin' I had some 'shine to go with it! That's pretty high on my "to-do list" when I get back to TN this summer.:D http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/fles.gif

I've got it on the tube right now
as far as I am concerned, racing is racing. my fave will always be F1 followed by the former CART and Le Mans, but for me motorsport is motorsport. wherever engines are running in earnest, wherever paint is being traded, wherever man is trying to outbrake fellow man I will be there ;) |
Since A J Foyt retired who cares....

If it ain't drag racing or (possibly) road racing it is a waste of TV time. I'd rather sit on the front porch, UN-buckle my belt and watch the cars rust.

Racing: noun. When drivers race, flag to flag, on a road course. Yellow flags are only brought out when there is a wreck, not to bunch everybody up when someone is getting too far ahead. Races are decided by superior cars driven by superior drivers, not guys who can come from fifth to win in the last seconds of the race by pushing the other guys off track. Racing, real racing, includes strategy - pit stop strategy, fuel strategy, and driving strategy. If you've beaten everyone else by the last lap, and don't win because someone pushed you off, that's not racing - it's entertainment.

That was an awesome race especially in the last 10 laps.

When you say pushed off, do you mean someone intentionally hitting your car on the last lap to take the race. I think their was a great deal of team work in this race and yes Tony Stewart had an awesome day but he didn't hold up in the last 10 laps of the race and the better car won the race. He didn't have another car to help him stay in the front or to block for him. But the championship is still decided on points so in the end, the best driver can still win. But I agree with your statement also except the superior cars part. The cars have to be similiar otherwise the race isn't fair. You can't put a Porsche up against a Kia and except the Kia to have a chance.
