Shipping to Canada

I'm not familiar with shipping out of the country. I have a few (4)oil filters on Ebay and a fella asked me if I would ship to Canada for him. I have shipping cost at $8 in the CONUS.
Anything special about shipping out of the country?
Will it cost me a bunch more $$ to ship them to him?

Thanks.

I went to the Post office and they helped out with everything. Wasn't too expensive and got there in a relatively short amount of time. Maybe their site has a postage calculator.

There is a customs form you have to fill out too.

I've have had lots of problems with Canadian shipping. Biggest problem being items held up in Customs for 3-4 weeks sometimes, and this causes some problems with buyers. If you don't have a tracking number then this makes it easy for buyers to get their paypal transaction reversed and leave neg feedback because they think that you have screwed them. So whatever you do, get a tracking number. I've shipped stuff all over the world, and Canada remains my biggest shipping headache. I am not trying to put Canada or it's citizens down, I am just expressing some frustration.

You can have frustrations shipping to anywhere.

Do USPS and if the customer wants it quick have him pay extra for Priority service. I've never had to wait weeks for items to arrive. I'm not saying it cant happen, just hasnt happened to me.

Priority may be called global express...not sure as I have not done it in a while.

UPS will charge$35 customs broker fee. Use USPS.

Yup, USPS is the easiest, cheapest route. Saves us getting a huge brokerage fee at our end.

Global Priority Express (U.S) = Express Post (Canada) (close enough)

quickest/safest/easiest way.............. tracking numbers that are actually used on both sides of the border by both postal services.

If I were to ship those same 4 filters from Canada to the U.S it may cost me 15 bucks canadian (~12 U.S)

USPS (Regular post) is cheaper (95% of the time it will get there unharmed) (Pretty much your ~7 U.S)

Now if you want to talk about shipping problems (MEXICO) CROOKS.

(I would avoid UPS and FedEx.... although I find FedEx having a lower brokerage fee)
