Just checked my email, and the following was there (Since I have never turned down an impassioned plea from a widowed wife of a terrorist and baby killer, I'm thinking about this):

Dear Beloved,
I am Mrs. Suha Arafat, the wife of YASSER ARAFAT, the Palestinian
leader who died recently in Paris. Since his death, even prior to the

You must have heard over the media reports and the Internet on the
discovery of some fund in my husband secret Bank Account and Companies,
even the allegations of some huge sum of money Deposited by my Late
Husband in my name of which I have refuses to disclose or give up to the
corrupt Palestine Government.

In fact the total sum allegedly discovered by the Government so far is
in the tune of about $6.5 Billion Dollars And still they are relenting
on their effort to make me poor for life. Right now, I have Deposited
the sum of 50 Million Dollars with a Financial Firm in Europe whose
name is withheld for now until we open communication.

I shall be grateful if you could receive this fund into your Bank
Account for safe keeping and any Investment opportunity. This arrangement
will be known to you, I alone and all our correspondence should be
strictly on email conversation because our Government has tapped all my lines
and are monitoring all my movement as to know what is happening in my
family.

In view of the above, if you are willing to assist for our mutual
benefits, we will have to negotiate on your Percentage share of the $21
Million Dollars that will be kept in your position for a while and
invested in your name for my trust pending when my Daughter Miss Zahwa will
come off age and take full responsibility of her Family
Estate/Inheritance and come over to your country.

Please Note that this is a golden opportunity that comes once in life
time and more so, if you are honest, I am going to entrust more funds in
your care as this is one of the legacy we keep for our children.

In case you don't accept, please do not let me out to the Security and
International Media as I am giving you this information in total trust

Un freeking believable.

Isn't this whole avenue exhausted yet?? Hasn't the whole world found out that these are scams, and are deleting these emails upon receipt? Or are there actually people still falling for this stuff enough, to keep it an ongoing problem?

That's awesome. Now it's not some Nigerian prince, it's a lie based on real news. I love these guys.

I knew a guy once who occasionally played for the other side of this game. One day, he and a friend decided to call banks asking for money. The spiel was pretty simple: "We're starting a business and looking for investment buy-in, wire $5000 to this off-shore account, please." You're thinking, "There's no way. Nobody's that stupid, especially not bank owners." He said it only took about 4 banks before they found one dumb enough to bite. Stunning.
