Don't really watch it much, but saw tonight that the final show is on at 9:00 here in California.

It says LIVE, but is it really?

They really lose all the east coast by playing it live at midnight in the east?

If they play it at 9 p.m. eastern live, then on tape delay here, doesn't that mean that the "cat is out of the bag" for the west coasters? News travels so fast on the 'Net.

nope, not really live. Last year when I actually watched (what can I say, gotta support the girl from Hawaii) I saw it at 9pm in Maryland, while it was still 3pm in Hawaii. Of course, I posted on a local board and told everyone to start dialing ;)

But then again, I wasn't home to see if they called it "live"...

at the time of posting, no...they haven't.
