Homes falling off the hills in Laguna Beach...

Have you guys seen the news this morning? I can't find a link, but it's on KTLA and KCAL - KTLA reports that at approximately 7:30 AM, seven homes Laguna Beach homes fell down the hillside on which they were built...

I'm sure more is coming...

KTLA now says 12 homes are "effected."

Looks like 9 homes have slid and the hill is still sliding. Might get even worse. Yikes.

Tabs - your beach front property is on the way!

Your tagline sorta just 'works' with the picture...

Is that another slippery slope ahead?

My cousin and a few friends live in that neighborhood. I will have to check on them.

This looks like the model train layout I had when I was kid after our dog got to it!

I wonder who underwrites the insurance on these things?

RallyJon 06-01-2005 11:20 AM

...and who approves the building permits.

Supposedly geologists already knew this area was ripe for another slide since the one in '87.

Fact is if you have the dough, you can build virtually anywhere. There have been many rumors that half of those $10 million beachfront monstrosities in Malibu were helped to fruition by payola given to the California Coastal Commission.

Man and I thought hurricanes were bad! At least we know they are coming.
