Sean Penn, Ace Reporter...

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Hollywood actor Sean Penn, adopting the role of a journalist, scribbled in his notebook as Friday prayer worshippers in Tehran chanted "Death to America."

I always thought he was a great investigative reporter. Especially after his last visit before the fall of Saddam when he declared that Iraq had no WMD. Unfortunately, he's a pretty good actor, he's grown in his acting ability since "Fast times at Ridgemont High". Doesn't mean that I care for his politics though. Its like looking at a beautiful actress, whose politics I absolutely despise and I can still think she's a beautiful women. I can separate the two, sort of.

Randy,

Did we read the same article?

I saw, "Working with a translator, Penn took copious notes as hardline cleric Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati urged the congregation to vote en masse 'to make America angry'."

You mean the idiot hollywood liberal was correct, and the entire US and UK intelligence communities were wrong?

Life's just full of little ironies, isnt it?

Penn is the latest version of Hanoi Jane. Neither of two need to be on Earth, eating food and air that good productive humans could be using.

Wow, stuart, you just won't let it go, will you?

I wonder who Baghdad Sean will turn to when he's sitting on his knees with his hands tied behind his back listening to a guy dressed in all black read demands to the American pigs. Maybe Jeanine Garofolo or Al Franken will save his sorry a$$.

Do you wish to cite another CIA report supporting the existance of WMDs in Iraq? Should you do so, I can only suggest you read it first this time.

The thing is, matey- Facts are facts and will not disappear on account of your likes.- Jawaharlal Nehru

Really stu? Did YOU read the ENTIRE report? It seems you should. You seem to be ingnoring the distinction between two concepts: WMD's did not exist in Iraq, and WMD's were NOT FOUND in Iraq. Big distinction, wouldn't you say? You keep asserting that Iraq never had them, since the US Gov't gave up trying to find them. I say that's a leap. I say the weapons and the intent to use them were in Iraq for quite some time. The idea that anyone would be able to find them after 14 years of successful deception by Saddam is ridiculous.

The last picture shows Penn on a balcony over-looking a crowd. I can tell you the crowd is all male if this is in a Mosque. The females are at a different level typicaly above (not below) the male congregation.

If he is up there with the women, then this is a big taboo on his part.

This is one guy who should never wear a mustache - what an ugly guy. Good actor following his heart though.

The actor, who visited Iraq before and after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003 and wrote an account of his second trip for the Chronicle, told Reuters he had decided to come to Iran because of growing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

The United States accuses Iran of developing nuclear weapons and sponsoring terrorism. Iran denies the charges.
Not again...........

From what I have seen of your posts I think the above statement applies more to people like you than those you attempt to criticize.

Thanks for your wonderful comments. Considering your past posts and view on life and the world I am not surprised that you support a traitor to the United States (Hanoi Jane) and an idiot who is trying to be like Hanoi Jane (Penn) versus someone who spent time in uniform and defended their country and YOUR right to have any free speech at all.

Why am I not surprised...

Do you care to lay out the details of how you defended our country and provided me with my right to free speech, or are you just so deluded that you think signing away your rights and wearing the uniform makes you as great as the founding fathers of this country or the veterans of WWII?

There is a big difference between actually doing something yourself and taking credit for the actions of others.

de·ter·rent n.
1. Something that deters: a deterrent to theft.
2. A retaliatory means of discouraging enemy attack: a nuclear deterrent.

I saw a hollywood actor doing something different...something other than acting...possibly studying for a future role...possibly expanding his horizons???
Few people agree 100% on politics & some only want to argue. I think the ones who prefer to argue have less testosterone! ha but that's just my two cents worth.
Have a nice day regardless of your viewpoints....you may even live longer being happy??? "a happy heart does good like a medicine"

Your right, I guess those thousands of Kurds died in the streets from industrial air pollution. Its like one of the jurors from the OJ trail said "Hey, once you ignore the blood and DNA, what else have you got?"

To those who think we shouldn't have gone to Iraq, I'm tending to agree with you. I mean, why should we worry if some dictator want's to murder a few 10s of thousands of his countrymen? Or do you think Saddam didn't murder them, Jamie79SC?

The difference is that along with millions of others, I did serve and defend my country. I do not hear the same coming from your direction. I do hear constant complaining and do not see any action done on your part to make things better.

Details... You do not deserve the details nor are in a "need to know." If you have not been there and done that then you would not understand anyway.

As Randy so very well put:

"For those who serve(d), freedom has a sweet taste the protected will never know."

Feel happy that you are one of the "protected" and were not born a Kurd and living in Saddams Iraq, where thousands were killed by the WMD that did not exist...

Joe A
