rear ended, thankfully, the F-250!!!

So I was returning from lunch and running some errands for Pcar goodies when I was turning into the driveway at work and then BAM!!!

My truck was now off to the side and I was wondering what in the heck just happended. I looked in the rear view mirror and saw the car that was following me (young girl jabbering away on her cell phone) was now into my truck's rear end

Fortunately, I work next door to a Fire Station and there just happened to be a police officer there on site.

I will need to have my rear axle checked out for internal damages, but it looks at least fair from the hit. About 20 mph directly into my wheel. Notice the gap around the center cap, especially comparing the front half of the cap to the rear half, she hit my wheel between the 12 and 4 o'clock position.

As for me, I think that I am OK, but I do feel tension in my back, especially down low. If it is still tight tomorrow, I will have it looked at.

Whew! Had that been my P-car, I would NOT have been to happy!

-Chris

That's what you get for getting in front of her in the first place. Don't you know people on cell phones while driving have the right of way? Just kidding. Glad you're OK.

Well if you weren't driving such a big POS in the first place...

Wow, in a way that is funny! You're luky it was your truck though. I have a similair story. A girl that goes to my school was in her car driving 25 mph up the street (and of course talking on the cell phone) when she hit head on into a Big Bright Blue commercial garbage container. Her car ('94 Pontiac Grand Prix) was smashed in the front, while the garbage container only received no more than a couple of scratches. She claimed that she did not see the Big Bright Blue garbage container!

I would post her, but I thought that might come back to bite me somehow down the road. Just your average Sunnyvale young thing, nothing close to what's on this board in other threads. Even better, the Ferrari thing! Damn!

Anyway, Last night I noticed that the alignment was off when going down the expressway and when I was backing up to park it at home, there is a squeal that only comes around once on each rotation. I think that's from the wheel taking the blow from the side, but only on 1/2 of the wheel.

The good news is that I was able to get my P-car back on the road last night

-Chris

Hey, I tried to make it out to your suspension build but couldn't catch Toby early enough. Looks like it went ok.

Heh heh, yeah, it went pretty well really. The typical "learn by doing" method definitely applied

It would be a whole lot easier now that I have done it. The second side was faster and I did it solo. You know how it is......

Toby and I are talking drinks at Murph's tomorrow, you should join us!
